Jumpdates has been created by a few highly energetic team of enthusiasts to serve the needs of a global community for online dating. After having seen
the disarray of many dating sites on the internet we decided to use a new approach and the result of our efforts was Jumpdates.com. We believe that the
hundreds of users joining each day since launch is a good indication that we are on the right track.
Jumpdates is a completely FREE Dating site! there are no hidden charges. Our revenue comes from the targeted banners that we place around the site.

What features are available to me once I join?
You have access to many features that you cannot see when you just browse. After you join, you have access to your messages that
other members may send to you. You can respond to this message, view their profile and add them to your contacts list. Other features
include editing your profile, uploading your photo and the ability to see profiles only in regions that you are interested in.

What is the registration process?
The registration process is fairly simple and its difficult to make any errors, thanks to our in-house Javascript expert. You go
through about 8 pages filling in questions and selecting various options. Some questions appear to be personal and any information
regarding your full identity is not revealed to other users and are held in our system for records purposes only. Most questions have
been designed to make it easier for other members to pick you out since sifting through many members can be laborious. For this purpose, we have provided a graphical representation of peoples personality, interests etc. which you can
determine quickly at a glance what this person might be like.

Can I get support while I am an active member?
Absolutely, we make this available through our own messaging system, so no email addresses to remember. In fact we encourage our
members to use this service for whatever issues because we aim to continuously enhance and improve this service to our
members.

How do I contact other members?
Firstly you need to join our service, you will then receive an email with your username and password. Once you login you will be
able to send and receive messages through our own anonymous messaging system. When you send a message, our paging system also sends
an email to the recipient telling them that they have received a message and requesting them to login to retrieve their messages.

How do I use the message section?
The message section is for use by members who have registered on this site. This section allows you to
contact other members after you login and has many features such as a contacts list where you can store interested
profiles for future reference and block specific members. You can go to the message section by first logging in
and then clicking on message link at the top. You can view new messages, old messages and sent messages from the links
at the top. To create a new message click on "Compose" link at the top and then type the contacts username in the "Send To"
field and the subject and message that you want to send. Members you have placed in your contacts list automatically appears
in a menu box to the left of the column. If you click on a username in the menu box it will open up the compose box with the
"Send To" username already filled in with the username. When you browse or search for profiles, you have access to a message
link at the top of the profile which you can click in order to message them. The "Send Box" section has icons to indicate
whether the recipient of your messages has opened and viewed your message (envelope icon with bubbles indicates messages
that haven't been viewed by other members whereas an opened envelope indicates that the recipient has read your message).

How do I change my Password?
To change your password, first login. Once logged in click on 'Edit my profile', which is in the 1st column, 1st row of your member home page. Now click on 'Personal Information', this will allow you to change some of the details of your profile. In the box next to password, type in the password you desire. Make a note of this new password for future reference. When you are finished making changes, click on submit.

How do I use the Search Agent?
The search agent is a feature that registered members may use that allows you to create and save searches that you would perform frequently. Instead of having to retype the same searches every time you visit Jumpdates, the search agent lets you save a search and save time. To create a search agent first login. Once you are at your user home page, left click on the Search link in the 2nd column, 2nd row. When you are at the search page, left click on create an agent. Now specify the qualities you are looking for in a potential mate (i.e. gender, location, etc.) Once you are done selecting your search, make sure you type in an agent name (the first box at the top of the page), which will identify this particular search you just created. Now at the bottom of the page click on Submit. You will be taken back to your search page where you should see the search you just created at the top of the page. To find the members that meet this search criteria left click on the search link next to the agent you desire. To view or edit a search, click on View/Edit link next to the search. When you are done editing or viewing click submit to save the changes.
If you select too many search parameters (i.e. gender, location etc.) its possible that you will not return any profiles in the search results. Try to narrow down the choices and reset some of the search parameters to "no preference" setting.

How do I use the Message Boards?
The message board is a wonderful way to share your interests and opinions with other users on current movies, music, sports, etc. This feature is accessible from your homepage after you login, which will be located on the right side of the homepage. After log in, you will see two main links on the right under the message board heading - 'Search All Boards' allows you to search board messages by topic, while 'View All Boards' lets you browse through all the boards, i.e. activities, sports, etc. Below these links will be the selected board topics that you specified when you registered to Jumpdates.com. The boards have been specifically designed for registered members only.
Main Board
- After clicking on View All Boards, you will notice that there are four main interest groups: Activities, Entertainment, Hobbies/Arts/Crafts, and Sports Activities. The numbers in the Articles category indicate how many original articles (threads) were created under that main interest group. The numbers in the Posts category show how many responses were created under that main interest group. For example, the Activities category may state that there are 20 Posts and 11 Articles. This means that there are 11 original articles of interest started by a member under the topics below the main group, and there are 20 responses to these articles. On the main board page you will also see a column with username, date and a button which is the last post made under this board. To view this post, click on the arrowed button, next to the username to go directly to that message. You can also click on the four main boards, which will take you to the related topics of the respective board. Click on the topics to view the articles and messages posted by the members for that topic.
Topics under Main Board
- There are lists of many topics relating to each of the four main interest groups and can be accessed by clicking on one of the main interest groups.
- Activities include topics such as Car Mechanics, Fashion, Investing, etc.
- Entertainment includes topics on Movies and Music.
- Hobbies/Arts/Crafts include topics such as Astronomy, Beadwork, History, etc.
- Sports Activities include topics such as Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, etc.
Posting a Reply to an Article
- To post a reply to an article, click on Reply, fill out the form - Reply Heading, Reply Mood (whether you are happy, mad, confused, etc.), and Reply (the comments that you wish to post), - and then click on Post Reply button. Your reply will appear under all the messages below article that you responded to.
Creating a New Article (Thread)
- To create a new article, click on New Thread button below any board topic and fill out this form. Type a heading (Thread Heading) and add a Thread Mood (whether you are happy, mad, confused, etc.), and the body of the article (Thread) and then click on Post Thread button. Your new article will be posted under the thread heading within the topic that you indicated and others will be able to view it and reply to it. If you see a topic with no articles in them, you can create a new article on that topic and start a new discussion.
Subscribing and Unsubscribing to Board Topics
- Boards that you have subscribed to automatically shows up in your homepage after you login. Click on the board topic to go to the section where you will be able to read messages posted or create a new article of your own. Here you will also see a link to subscribe or unsubscribe to the board topics. If you are unsubscribed to a board it will not show up in your home page, but you can still read, create an article and post replies to any boards. Click on the link 'subscribe to board' if you want the board topic to appear on the members home page.

How do I change my profile?
After you login, you will be presented with a few links and one of them will include a link for editing your profile, click on that
and you will be able to change most of your profile settings that you selected when you registered. Here you will also be able to change
your password and upload photo.

Help with uploading a photo?
After you login, click on "Upload a Photo" where you will be taken to a page for adding your own photo. If you already have a photo uploaded you can replace
it with a new one.
You cannot upload images which have a size greater than 500K, you can check the size of the image by right clicking on the image file and then clicking on properties
Try to get the image file size to about 30K as this will download faster in browsers.
Images are only supported with the following extensions ".jpg", ".gif" and ".bmp", other formats will not show
up in the browser. Please make sure that the image that you are trying to upload is of a reasonable length and width so the page looks neat.
If you have scanned an image, the image format is likely to have a .tif extension, you will need to convert the image to either gif or jpg. The scanner
may have come with a photo editor which will allow you to do the conversion. Otherwise you will need to purchase a photo editor to do this which are fairly
commonplace and cheap, for example Paintshop Pro.
Any images that do not comply with our requirements will immediately be rejected and membership liable for termination.
Images containing sexually explicit material or obscene and offensive gestures fall into this category.

Can I turn my listing on/off?
Yes, you need to login and click on 'Profile On/Off/Delete' where you can temporarily disable your account, or permanently cancel membership.

How do I cancel my Membership?
When you login, click on the link that says "Profile On/Off/Delete", go to the bottom of the page, fill the text boxes and click on submit. This will automatically delete your profile from our system.

Helpful tips in navigating around the site
We realize the importance of presenting a site to our visitors and members that is easy to use as well as having many features. From that point of view we
have provided a few useful tips. This site is best viewed using the IE4 explorer or above. We do not provide too many of the same links on every page. This has many
benefits; it helps the page to load faster and it allows you to know where you are on the site. Use the back button of your browser whenever possible to go

I am having trouble LOGGING in?
If you have trouble logging in with the password, try to copy and paste the username and password from your email into the text boxes. If you are receiving a SESSION timeout error, this is likely that you are accessing the link directly from the hotmail email which frames the site. Please open up another browser and then go to Jumpdates.com directly (http://www.jumpdates.com) and then go to login. Note the username is
always appended with a dash and a number which must also be included. For example the format of the username "charming-4" includes the word "charming" AND the remaining characters
"-4" to complete the username. If you are still experiencing problems please click here.

I am a WEBTV user and I cant seem to go through the registration process?
We currently have some problems with the registration for WEBTV users. We are trying to resolve these issues, in the meantime please try to register
